Custom 3D Printing
Custom 3D Printing
Need a physical print from your own 3D model? Precision Layers offers custom resin and filament 3D-printing services for customer-supplied files.
We focus on producing clean, accurate physical prints from print-ready files. Projects are reviewed individually so we can confirm feasibility, material choice, pricing, and production time before you order.
What We Print
We can review projects such as:
- Resin miniatures and display models
- Figurines and statues
- Functional parts
- Prototypes
- Golf simulator accessories
- Decorative items
- Replacement parts
- Small-batch production
- Mold masters and pattern pieces
Project acceptance depends on file quality, size, geometry, material requirements, licensing, and available equipment.
Resin Printing
Resin printing is best suited for projects that require:
- Fine surface detail
- Miniatures and character models
- Small mechanical details
- Smooth curved surfaces
- Display pieces
- Mold masters
Available resin types may vary by project. We select materials based on detail, durability, size, and intended use.
Filament Printing
Filament printing is often better for:
- Larger functional parts
- Prototypes
- Brackets and fixtures
- Organizers
- Golf accessories
- Durable utility items
- Projects where size matters more than ultra-fine detail
Material options may include PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS, ASA, and other specialty filaments depending on the project.
Information Needed for a Quote
Please provide as much of the following as possible:
- A printable STL, 3MF, or other compatible 3D-print file
- Desired dimensions or scale
- Quantity
- Resin or filament preference, if known
- Intended use
- Strength or flexibility requirements
- Desired color, if applicable
- Deadline or target delivery date
- Reference images or assembly instructions, when relevant
A secure file-sharing link may be used when the file is too large to attach.
File Requirements
Customer-supplied files should be complete and reasonably print-ready.
We review files for basic printability, but we do not guarantee that every file can be printed successfully without modification. Problems may include:
- Non-manifold geometry
- Missing surfaces
- Extremely thin walls
- Unsupported floating details
- Poorly designed joints
- Excessive hollowing
- Trapped resin areas
- Scale-related fragility
- Features smaller than the selected printing process can reliably reproduce
We will contact you if we identify a significant concern before production.
Design and File Modification
Precision Layers specializes in physical printing and production.
We do not currently provide:
- Full 3D sculpting
- Character creation from images
- Major CAD redesign
- Complex engineering services
- Extensive mesh repair
- Conversion of concept art into a finished 3D model
Simple scaling, orientation, support preparation, or minor print preparation may be available depending on the project.
Intellectual Property and File Rights
By submitting a file, you confirm that you own the design or have permission to reproduce it.
Precision Layers may decline projects involving unclear ownership, restricted content, trademark concerns, copyright concerns, prohibited items, or files that appear to violate a third party’s rights.
Customer files are used only to evaluate, quote, manufacture, fulfill, document, and support the requested project unless otherwise agreed.
Pricing
Custom-print pricing depends on:
- Material usage
- Print time
- Machine time
- Part count
- Cleanup and finishing
- Support requirements
- Failure risk
- Packaging
- Quantity
- Deadline
- Any required file preparation
Quotes are provided before production begins.
Production Time
Production time varies by project.
Small, simple jobs may be completed quickly, while large, multipart, high-quantity, or technically demanding projects may require additional time. Shipping transit time is separate from production time.
